Born Emily Olivia Leah Blunt on February 23, 1983, in London, she was discovered by an agent during her time at Hurtwood House, Surrey. At Hurtwood, Blunt was active in co-curricular activities such as sports, cello, music, etc. She made her theater debut in Peter Hall’s ‘The Royal Family.’ In 2003, she made her on-screen debut in the television film ‘Warrior Queen.’ She received her breakthrough in 2004 with a role to remember in Pawel Pawlikowski’s ‘My Summer Love.’ Her performance was widely praised.
